I had been taking lessons from a very well known "top 50" teacher in Memphis and was really struggling with flipping it so much that my last few lessons were basically the same thing. Hit down hit down hit down yada yada yada.
So on my quest for knowledge and searching the internet I stumbled onto some forum where someone mentioned the video Confessions of a Former Flipper so I googled that and here I appeared. I bought the video and as Brian would say I knew I was on to something. I sent Brian a private message about lessons and that very night my phone rang and the man talked to me like I we were long lost friends. I then made the trip down to New Orleans earlier this year honestly expecting much of the same. Brian took my swing and customized it and miraculously the flipping was nowhere to be found. I could not have been happier.
So I have been working on things for a couple of months now and wanted to show my old teacher how far I had come with no intention of telling him where my progress had come from. I call him up make a appointment but it gets rained out. I try and get a hold of him but get the voice mail so I send him a text just saying to call me back when he is not busy or to just text me back a appointment time. I've yet to hear from him.
The great thing about Brian is he always makes time for you no matter your skill level or whether you can advance his career. He truly seems to enjoy the teaching aspect of it and that goes a long way with me. I may not be some young hot shot with pockets full of money but my golf swing is important enough for me to spend the time and money on lessons.
It just seems to me that in a lot of cases today, people forget where they came from and begin to take things for granted. Funny thing is I ran into someone the other day that remembers back in the early 90s where that now famous golf coach I've seen was actively trying to find students at 5 lessons for 100 bucks yet now when he is way more successful can't even take 2 minutes to call someone back that is willing to pay him more than some psychiatrists make in a hour. So to Brian and all the teaching professionals from this board that take the time to help answer questions on your own time and make my golfing experience more enjoyable. Thanks!!!
