How difficult are the courses you play?

I usually play a rotation of 5-6 courses here in Tulsa with my average course stats being:

Rating 71.7
Slope 129
Yardage 6600

What is standard for the rest of the Manzella nation?

My two 'home' courses are about 6,800, both with 139 slopes. I usually play slopes in the range of 138-142. Although a couple of the courses that are 142 slopes I actually believe are much easier than a couple of the courses that are 138 and 139 slopes.

Do you play it from back there?

Yep. I started doing this about a month ago. I wanted to see what I really had to improve in my game and found out that my short game isn't that bad, but the driver crookedness(not distance) kills me...I'm still working at it hard. On the course I play, playing back there brings all the trouble in play. I can't airmail all the bunkers anymore, so I have to learn shots and course management AND my swing has to get better. Golf is hard:p

the course I am super at :74.4/143/6766 yards
water EVERYWHERE........5-10 yards off line....you are dropping all day in fact we have a forced carry of 245 into the always stiff wind par 4

course I play twice a month(used to be assisant at)
74.8/143/7232 yards treeless course but with "native areas" outside the fairway.

This is so going to turn into a "my cock is bigger than yours" deal...sad. I'll add this..My scores are typically in the 80s.

No way i don't believe you... lol. Oh, i mean the first sentence. :D

Usually play 12-15 different courses per season. Almost always white tees - 6000 to maybe 6200 yards. Some fairly tough, some easy. Ratings in the 68 to 71 zone. Amazingly, I haven't been out of the 80's over or under so far.

Toughest round this season was Bulle Rock, MD the week after the LPGA Championship. Rough was still up and we played mostly the blue tees which is where the ladies played from. Played above average for me and shot 88. The previous week, I think the winning score there was something like (-18) over the 4 rounds.

Those ladies are good...

...and I am not.

Greens

VJ,
I have been putting the greeens since I was a young lad and have been a member since 1987. The greens are the best I have ever played but the most difficult when they are fast because you can have multiple reads and different lines to make a putt depending upon speed. I have had putts that go of of the green from 3 feet and breaks in excess of 30 feet to make a putt. After the 1994 Open a study was made to find the perfect speed to make a putt on a level surface and the results were to create a speed that was seven feet (6.8 feet) past the cup to create the most efficient speed to make the putt . Now you know why Tom Watson putted the way he did and Nicklaus did as well. Any other ideas and you will have to come to Oakmont to see for yourself.

Man I'll give you a limb to play that course. It's one of my golf dreams, that and playing augusta. Seriously, I put Oakmont up there with Augusta as the best courses in the country.

Matt,

On average, how fast do they run?? You got me all giddy:)

yeah matt.........do tell.

are they really 11 EVERYDAY?

I used to work at a course to where we were 10 on most days and it was nuts.

Oakmont is by far the best US open course, SO AWESOME.
