Tiger Will Quit the Game or Just Play the Majors or .... I'm Bettin Golf is Not Going to Be the Biggest Thing in His Life Any More..... Have a Great Day....
It's quite possible that...
Tiger's #1 in his life has been Elin and his child(ren) for a few years now.
Just because golf isn't #1 for him doesn't mean that he can't still dominate. Golf wasn't #1 for Jack, either.
Tiger has a "quota" that he's set for himself to reach at some point in his career. My guess is 20 (I'm only counting professional majors).
Once he reaches his "quota," he'll stop winning/playing as much, mostly because he's not practicing as much. His drive will wane as other new interests in his life will start to occupy more of his time.
It won't matter, and Tiger will still win a few more. The fact that he's entered in the tournament and that he won't play unless he can win will be the reason. Oh, that and he's got ability, experience, and confidence, even without the practice.
This is, of course, all theory. Not sure if I believe it or not, but it's cool to think about. Maybe the same happened to Jack, but he had his mark set at 15. He won his 14th in 1975, then kept winning tour events regularly until 1978 when he won his 15th. He then didn't win ANYTHING in 1979. In the eighties, he only won 5 more events; three of them being the 1980 US Open and PGA Championship and the 1986 Masters.
Then again, maybe it was just his health or old age...
