Anyone on the board see this DVD yet? Claims to be Mike Austin, but from what I see, looks like a low budget attempt to cash in on the ideas of others. Nothing I haven't seen on this site or FGI. There is some good info, but I really have to wonder if Austin supported this DVD, and where they gathered their info. Seems to me that "Secrets from the Games longest hitters" was 'Austin endorsed', and that this 'could' be a sham of stolen ideas.

Anyone else have an opinion on it?

I ordered it and have watched parts of it between 3 kids and a demanding wife, and I am not so good on a first pass, so bear that in mind. With that said, he looks like a throwaway monstor. He advocates a bending backward of the left wrist past impact. He claims it is not scooping because you hit down. Hold your hands and arms straight in front of you, hands, wrists, and arms being vertical to the ground.Flex your right wrist back on itself, then the left wrist back on itself, while maintaining their vertical conditons. this, he proposes is the Austin hand and arm action in his swing. Jury has not heard all the evidence, but this is what first pass registered with me.

Austin agrees with the teaching.
If you dont lose any rear wrist bend to follow through, its not throwaway.
4-d-1 states "Any loss in impact fix Rear wrist bend DURING release immediately becomes lead wrist throwaway." (I substitued left and right fir lead and rear as i am lefthanded).
If you are rotating through, rear wrist bent and dont throw from the wrist, you will have lead flat/rear bent alignments.
He basically is removing roll.
The following is from a post by holenone:
"In Full Shots, after the Follow-Through, the Left Arm folds and the Left Wrist Swivels Palm Up against the face of the Inclined Plane and Bends. Similarly, the Right Arm remains straight, the Right Wrist Swivels Palm Down against the Plane and Flattens. At the Precision Destination of The Finish (2-N-0), the Fix Alignments of both Wrists are then restored".

EdZ,

I don't remember which forum I read it on, but someone wrote that Austin doesn't fully endorse what is presented on the DVD. The book, however, is all his. Try checking the Golf Aficionados forum.

armourall,

Did you ask me a question about straightening the left leg early? I can't seem to find it. If you did please ask me again and if not, ignore my senility.

I did Brady, but over at the Golf Aficionados forum. I revised and reposted it under your Redgoat Answers post.

Thanks.
