I am leaning towards...

I posted this question on this in the mega-thread a while back. It got lost in the shuffle of good posts!

My questions are:

Does the new release help players swing left?
Do handle draggers have to aim left in order to zero out?

This release is a big piece of the puzzle for me because as a chronic below-planer it was difficult learning how to swing left while habitually dragging the handle.

I noticed that if I were to address the ball with the shaft perpeindicular to my plane line (aimed slightly left) it almost appeared as if the shaft was leaning backwards. The only way I could get the shaft back to this basic angle was to "close the gap" ASAP with some help from a flattening right wrist. A first it nauseated me, then I noticed that it helped me open the face (although square to the target) in relation to the path a lot easier, a visual challenge for me. The feeling for me is that using the target line as the reference point the shaft feels like it is leaning backwards...through the bag. The result has been a significantly shallower angle of attack (yes, I know that AoA is not the same as shaft lean) Does this make any sense...to anyone?

Your setup probably changed the position of your eye's in relation to where you now see the shaft they could be looking slightly back at the shaft, just a guess.

The "new release" has two parts you might be referring to - the top of the backswing action and the line it up business at impact. I suspect you are saying something about the line it up part. There I'm not so sure it aids hitting left. It just seems hitting draws and hooks with this release still dictates differing HSP's righter than a pure straight shot and hitting down and left.

If you are talking about the action at the top of the BS you'd have to explain a bit more, I think. There may be many reason (I guess) for underplane, but this release would have had nothing to do with helping my underplane issues. I do think though that the away from targetline move (if used) can help some underplaners.
