I anticipate the loading and the feeling on PP3 on each shot, down to putt.

It can work if you do it correctly, which is sense it there, but that's it.

I don't know my PP #'s but when I swing I feel it in the last 3 or so fingers in my left hand. That's pretty much it.

(right handed golfer)

Lots of great players have said the same thing.

I've heard it advised that Hitters (I likely belong in that group)

Why do you think you are a "hitter"??

(you) should actively feel the PP#1 through the thrusting of the right arm and ALLOW the #3 pressure to be felt by a passive right index finger.

Always passive.

I'd watch how you use that right arm.

The book version of "hitting" is very limiting, and not very optimum.

Perhaps ALLOWING the right wrist to be bent versus making the right wrist bent also plays a role.

No doubt about that.

Brian, My Old Swing

Why do you think you are a "hitter"??

In my old swing I feel the power/distance was primarily supplied by a strong thrusting/straightening of the right hand/elbow. I sensed my right hand and its strong grip pressure through impact but much less on my left. I feel if I hit a rock, it would be my right hand that would get hurt. I also felt very little pulling from my left side.

I'd watch how you use that right arm.

I totally agree as I've never liked that aspect of my swing. I'll work on incorporating more pulling from the left arm from the pivot. I also found that since I now focus on maintaining a flat left wrist along with the newly discovered axis tilt (hence the reference to my old swing), the right arm seems to be a little more passive.

It's good to know that I don't have to worry about PP#3. Thanks Brian for your detailed advise. :)
