I feel like I am still flipping:can you look at this

Watched confessions of a former flipper last night again. And since my back is sore went to work on just some pitches. I definately do not feel like Brian looks on the video.

I feel like I am still flipping at it. Would welcome any sugestions, also hit every pitch on the toe, is my tendency with all shots. I put a ball about 8 inches behind ball, and could not miss that ball.

I do not see a flip either. You do not drag the handle as much as Brian does to illustrate but I think that is actually ok. Someone with more knowledge will have to take it from here.

As you're drilling and as your back feels better, move the ball position farther and farther forward while still keeping axis tilt and a flat left wrist.

Thanks for the replys, my contact is very inconsistent, I will hit and inch or two behind the ball quite a bit. Maybe 3 out of five feel descent and is an acceptable shot. I do not feel like my rt. shoulder goes down the plane enough. I did try some float loading and either sculled it or really hit behind the ball, positive I was not doing it right. I will find one were I flip it bad. i do feel like I could cock the wrists more.

pitching versus full swing

I agree with Kevin in seeing zero flip. BUT.....

Years ago when I began working on forward lean, I used to be able to get "model" forward lean with chips, pitches and punch type shots. As I would progress into full swings I would lose that forward lean. So, as I see a great forward leaning shaft in your video, I am still wondering what you look like once that right elbow gets off your side. When you get feeling better with the back, let's see some full 5 irons. I do believe there is big difference in little shots and full - up to the shoulder swings. That always seems to be where the difference appears.

Two things: 1) You use a lot less pivot than in COFF. 2) As far as flip, there is a baby flip as just before impact you do release the right hand angle about 20 degrees.

If having consistency issues you may want to reduce that "toss" a bit and increase tilt and pivot.

Just as a note from the COFF video, remember where Brian kept making divots way out in front...practice that.

Yeah, I basically see what's been mentioned already. You could use a little more pivot and drag the handle (maybe float load), but there's no flip there.

Different Types of Pitches

I see a golfer here with what appears to be decent talent trying to hit a mid-sole pitch with characteristics of a leading-edge pitch in the backswing and wrist set.

The COFF technique is for leading edge, low spinning pitches, which are great options off of tight lies and hardpan. It is also a technique that translates well into the full swing, especially for iron shots.

Your backswing is slightly under plane because you are using too much twistaway and a lot of right wrist bend to set the club. From this position, the only reliable and repeatable pitch shot would be a low skipper that flies 3 feet off the ground, with a slight in-to-out impact.

If you try to hit a low, spinning skipper with this technique, your fat shots will disappear.

Your toe shots are caused by being under-plane with a delofted clubface a few inches before impact, and then you are instinctively adding loft to the club with a "toss", which is a nice way of saying "slight flip". The toss is pulling the clubhead in towards your body a half an inch or so, leaving impact off the toe and making the clubhead bottom out too soon.

If you are looking to hit more reliable mid sole pitches, I would recommend cocking your wrists more straight up on the backswing and then use more left forearm rotation to set the club instead of bending the right wrist back on itself to set the club. This will effectively add more loft to the clubface and you will not have to time the "toss" at the bottom.
