I know this may not help most of you because most already know this. I am a high handicap player high 90's low 100's and have played off and on for a few years. A good golfer friend videoed me with my driver and said I need to stand closer to the ball. My drives was relatively short 190 to 210 and I always fought a slice. So I decided to take his advice so at my driving range I hit 13 balls standing like he said and hit 6 between 220 and 230 and had 1 that went 245. The rest had a slight fade but still went 200 to 210 yards.
I recall another golfer friend state several times that I need to swing through and I was swinging across the ball with my driver. It makes sense because standing back too far I was running out of extension so I could not follow through. One of the best parts about standing closer is my trajectory is so much better and instead of teeing the ball in the middle of my stance I can now move it up more and take advantage of more SS at contact.
