I like Tiger, but this is ridiculous!

How many good lies can a man get a the OPEN hitting it 30 yards off line? It's almost not fair when Rocco and Lee are missing by 5-15 yards and have no shot but to hack it out. Tiger routinely hits is off the planet into the trampled dowm rough and its sits right up for him.

And, yes, I know he paid for it on number one.

BTW, must have been a perfect lie in the rough on 18 to spin it back.

I think it just goes to show how much spin he puts on the golf ball. That was a 60* wedge that he hit 100 yards and it barely spun back, then it trickled down the hill.

If that was a fairway lie he would've spun that back like 50 feet haha!

So should fans be banned from the course? Its not like he was aiming for those spots. He was getting tee to green with smoke and mirrors on that knee. The lie on 18 was from a half divot.

Hes that much better than everyone else(even with only one knee). Get over it.

I totally agree.

This will be judged by how many times he plays between now and the Open Championship. 5 events, 2 of which he usually plays. Buick open(his sponsor) and the his own tournament. I bet he doesn't play either.

I concur on both counts. This is a good metric to judge it, and I, too, think he won't play again until perhaps the week before The Open.

Calm down Mrs. Woods!

I never said he wasn' that good, or that much better than anyone else. Nor did I say there was a fix for it. But he had A LOT of generous lies for hitting it out into that US Open rough time after time.

You talk like the USGA conspired to give Tiger good lies. Anybody else hitting it miles offline would've had the same trampled lies. Getting a free drop when you airmail a green into the grandstand is generous(should be a penalty IMO, Snedeker was penalized for accidentally hitting his ball with his marker so its not like the USGA won't give out stupid penalties).

Good and bad breaks normally even out throughout the 4 days... but it seems like Tiger had more good bounces this week than bad ones...

I just hope today is competitive on both accounts... I hope neither one runs away with it... I'll be pulling for Rocco but I think he may be more drained... leaving it all out there more so than even a wounded Tiger... Although he wanted the heads up play to see if he could handle it... I've never routed so hard for someone in a US Open since Payne's win at #2...

I sort of agree with you a little. If Tiger misses he hits it that hard it goes 50 yards left or right, over the rough and into a much easier lie with a look at the green.. if that was you or I playing we'd be 3 off the tee. Mediate and Westwood were more consistent off the tee but penlaised for it. What can they do? Could they start thinking about OOB for hitting it over certain boundaries?

No. 1 he could have hit that low back onto the fairway (on both shots) and taken his medicine .. he went for a miracle shot and for once it didnt come off. That lie was still better than the deep rough

Felt for Mediate .. thought he played the more consistent golf all weekend

I noticed and commented on Tiger's great lies all day. I'm not a fan of his, but he is so much better than everyone else, it's absurd. Give him good lies when he hits bad shots and he'll win every week (oh wait, he already does that). Anyway, I hope Rocco has one more miracle round in him today...

He hits it the best from good lies. He hits it the best from bad lies. Did you ever think that he knew the grass would be trampled? He figures if he misses it left/right he would be in decent shape. Pro's plan their misses, hacker's don't...
