Ideas in action

I've learned a ton from Brian and the rest of the Academy and made a video, broken into 3 parts, about the ideas and how they relate to two pretty good, professional swings:

By the way, I know I mistakenly referred to one of the positions as the "first parallel"--I meant "last parallel." Also, here are Quiros and Edfors's stats (I was wrong, they are both hitting over 70 percent of greens and routinely drive it over 300 yards!):

nice job lia, big difference in both players in how open the hips are through impact maybe hitting different shots but stll big difference. i think quiroz could be the poster boy for the new release. have been a long time admirer of quiroz swing it is a brisk swing but it just looks so simple effortless and fluent, in terms of efficiency it is top class

Lia, I watched the first 45 seconds of your video, but I didn't hear anything about the Kardashians or Lindsey Lohan, so I muted it to check my phone for texts and tweets. A few minutes later I unmuted it, but it was just some dude talking about golf. I got bored and turned it off.

Tangential refers to how the clubhead, from the top of the backswing, moves away from the target. This is important in terms of establishing "width" in the swing. This is opposed to tugging.

Agreed, Edfors gets way more open.

Yeah, I got pretty long-winded. There's probably 10 minutes that I could have cut out.
