ideas on the release vs. cp release

I'd love to hear Brian, Kevin's, Finney's, or Jacob's thoughts on the recent idea about the release, vs. what many refer to a cp release or more left, as opposed to down the line. I've recently been working on pulling hard with the left elbow , and making sure my arms are staying in tight through impact, to get more left and get more of a fade action.

I think both release types can be effective, depending on the player, conditions, bodytype, and probably a million other variables. But I'd like to hear what they think are the pros and cons of each type.

You didn't ask me, but gonna say something anyway.

I much more see common things in CP release and what Brian is telling us than opposite things. Going normal is not only up, its about 40 degrees up and left. I might have some different opinions of forces in downswing and their directions, maybe some different explanations for them, but I can't see much wrong with this and cp together. It's all quite clear when we know that ch and hands are moving very different directions when coming to impact, from whatever angle we think that.

Don't assume these ideas will promote a fade action. It may for you but that depends on different elements based on the individual. For me it helps turn it over or keep it straight.

I will agree with this, the ball does not fade for me, and if it misses its a lil pull. Generally I aim slightly right of target and play for it to slightly pull............ball will almost never hook though, very comforting feeling.

I found that actively trying to release the club in that way shuts the face a bit much for me; I normally play little fades.
