I'm a 9 hc now - was a 0-5 for many years (the young limber years).
My friends say I'd be a 20 hc if I couldn't putt & chip.
I can't seem to stop over swinging and letting my right elbow fly.
My pro can't seem to get me there.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Wolfdog
Dear Wolfdog,
By dragging the dot in the time bar (after freezing the frame), I am able to 'stop action', some of the subsequent frames.
DO YOU OR ANYONE ELSE KNOW HOW TO ADVANCE A U TUBE VIDEO FRAME BY FRAME ?
From what I am able to see in 'stop action' is that you are athletic enough to strike the ball after having put yourself in impossible positions during your 'transition. I have a friend that has a similar swing, and his desire to KILL the ball awakens a whole lot of right side that is too early and too much for your swing.
So, can you do a 10 BASEBALL swing, continuous HORIZONTAL 'metronome-like' exercise ? Next, can you do it while keeping your hips/torso stable, and without losing your balance and moving your feet ?
Finally, can you do this 10 more times, lowering your back and forth swing from HORIZONTAL TO A GOLF SWING WITH THE SHAFT AT 45-60 DEGREES, to the vertical ?
If so, or if you can 'train' yourself to do this with multiple 10 swing repetitions without a ball, you will have started to more correctly move thru the 'transition phase', without your present DESTRUCTIVE, approximately 6 inch UPPER BODY "THRUST (in 3D AMM/TPI terms), towards the ball.
Now, rather than try to actively remember every new place your body parts are going, JUST TRUST YOUR NEWLY TRAINED BODY,AND REMEMBER AND BE AWARE OF ONLY YOUR NATURAL TEMPO.
NOW, FINALLY, tee up a ball, and JUST REPRODUCE AND BE AWARE OF THAT TEMPO.
Please video both an exercise both horizontal and on plane and a swing or two HITTING YOUR DRIVER, where you HONESTLY can say you were AWARE, and MATCHED the tempo of your 10 swing, golf plane exercises.
Looking forward to your response wolfdog, and then yes, it will be time for Part 2, and 'Bumpy Back, keep it back", for the lower body dynamic balance you will now need for your new swing..
Good luck and regards,
art
