Let me address some other points.
There is no need to start the hands at midbody and THEN go to IF.
I can't think of any tour players who do (perhaps there are), it's just unnecessary, IMO.
Hands going inside is not the problem with IF address. The problem is the clubhead getting inside in relation to hands.
If you keep the clubhead slightly outside of the hands, the problem is solved. Even if the hands go inside so much they brush up against the rt. thigh.
A hitter can use midhands or IF address, it doesn't matter. Or you can use a position midway betwee these two!
There are many ways to take the club back with either. Consequently, there are many ways to screw up with EITHER.
So again, the solution is KNOWLEDGE and APPLICATION vs. only looking to a position.
It's like arguing whether King's gambit is stronger than Queen's gambit in chess. It just depends on what follows...
