Finally unlocked my potential swing!

The secret was UP! not just in.
:D'

Did I mention how awesome this website is?

My secret seems to be the up as well. I always got the up from my hands/wrists. Now I realize they are more passive and the up (for me) comes from my left arm.

Didn't you always have enough up Jen?
the up was not lifted correctly:eek:

I'lll try describe in a few words on what was going on with my swing.
What I describe below might only work for me.

1. Instead of just lifting my arms, I turn (counter clockwise) my left forearm to match my shoulder turn so that the club will not open on the way up. As soon as I go on to my downswing, the club tends to laid off a lot and trying to find its plane to attack the ball. Usually the club flatter so much I end up hitting a weak snap hook or just fat. If I try to "swing" left, it gets worse because of the open club face and how laid off my downswing is. The only way that I can play is if I do
a. carry the club with my body
b. hit a punch shot
I would have to carry this turn club with me to the left, and the result is either a pull (close face) or a pull fade. The ball flight is just nasty, and shorter than what I used to be. I have been struggling with this for almost an year. or, I can try to wait 0.1 sec for the club to set on a swinging plane then swing (which is ridiculous).

2. Now with this correct up component that I learned here, I can pull as hard as I can because the club is ready at the top to be delivered to the ball. I feel much more like I'm swinging the club and not so much carrying the club around my body. I can easily swing left, hit a low shot, fade, draw, hook, just about anything that I want to do. My left shoulder doesn't hurt anymore from the old swing. I don't hhit fat shots anymore also. I guess my way of checking if I'm doing it correctly is the club face vs my wrist condition at the top. I would try to grip as weak as possible and without any manipulation on the top, i should have an arched wrist. I would then try to grip as strong as possible, and I should ave a cupped wrist (depending on how strong I grip). Against, without any sorts of manipulation, the club should be set on the top correspondent with your grip. That's when I know my backswing is working correctly.

I never really understood the up component correctly (maybe I'm still wrong), but now the club just goes up naturally and I'm ready to swing!

In my honest opinion though, you should have a swing that it's easy for you to swing without thinking too much. You already got putting, chipping, course condition to think about, you don't want to add another swinging thought to your coconut.
