Intention....

With everything in allignment and on plane I simply focus on driving the ball into the ground.

Ben said drive the ball to China. Yoda said obviate the plane line. You can not go wrong hitting down on the ball. That's ball compression. Sweeping into impact allows the clubface to layback and open, a compression loss. And lifting the ball, scooping, well thats for ice cream not golf.

Ringer said: You are very capable of having perfect alignment to the target, and hitting the ball completely errant of your target with your intention be on hitting the ball.

I don't understand the last eight words but I think I get the message, so...
You can, but not me. Perfect alignments with an intention (hate that word) to strike the ball will not errant my shot. You give up too much in your swing. TGM gives you total control over impact because the hands are genius. Do you ever use the clubface or just the clubhead?

I always tell my students: "Your intent is more important than your execution."

But what intent?

What is the golfers intent on a normal shot?
Brian: At the moment my intention is to get to a correct both arms straight on plane follow through like in your logo having taken a nice ice cream scoop divot with the ball getting in the way while looking at the inside aft quadrant and taking my swing there. When I do it right I squash the ball like a bug and it takes off and keeps on going when I expect it to run out of steam.

I should have said "While your intention is on hitting the ball."

Sometimes I think faster than I type. Sorry.

"Perfect alignments with an intention (hate that word) to strike the ball will not errant my shot."

What alignments are perfect and how often can you achieve this perfection? I'm speaking in particular about the body alignments at setup. NOT the alignments during the swing.

I set up perfectly each and every time. I don't swing the club if I'm not. Once I set my right forearm on plane, the rest of me settles in.
Perfect consistent set up each time. And I want to put the clubface on the ball in front of an orbiting clubhead. The clubface is a passive action, tuned by an educated left hand that mirrors the FACE. The clubhead action is pure power driving downward to reach the bottom of its circle. The ball, that tiny little ball, because of my perfect set up to IT, is located just before the clubhead orbit's low point. The result- perfect impact perfect compression.

Most machines are calibrated for consistency, to repeat, to achieve perfection. And we are GOLFING MACHINES built by Homer and friends.

BTW- please don't cut and paste a ton of definitions on the word perfect or perfections. Lets stay grounded for once.

Good grief.... that's a LOT to think about when you're standing over the ball.

And don't patronize me for chrissake.

Good grief, I don't think about a single thing over the ball except having the ball flight in my mind. All that other perfect stuff the- HANDS all ready know. E-D-U-C-A-T-I-O-N. I don’t have to fuss with any of that.

Patronize?? Guess it did its job. And please lets keep the Lord’s name out of this. I would think a Bishop would know that. Hahahaha

Sustain the lag, sustain the lag, sustain the lag through the aiming point!!!
Imagine swinging like Davis Love III

Often is may be the equipment not the player that needs adjustment. For instance, if your swing improves, see a fitter to make sure you have the correct shafts in all your clubs.
Getting physically fit, improving the swing plane and speed/release, can only compliment one another if the shaft flex etc. is correct.
Agree?

Produce and sustain maximum force.

And support, on plane force

support the on plane swinging force in balance

You can't have maximum force if it is off plane force.

Agreed, nor can it be unbalanced (off plane).

To sustain, you must support.
