Irons too Upright

Some of you may remember I went to a Ping Demo Day and got fitted for the present irons i've been playing.

Ping I5 black dot (standard). They want me to bend them 2 degrees flat.

Does this mean I am closing the irons too much somewhere in my swing and they are bending them open?

I'm using the SD pattern and I'm wondering if I need my equipment redone in order to use this pattern.

Almost always, you are—lie angle speaking—what you are.

I measured 2° flat with the Never Hook Again pattern, and 2° flat with my current, more Soft Draw-ish pattern.

Get 'em bent.

Brian. At what point do you think lie angles become overly flat?

When do you think it is a result of compensationg for something?
