is it ok to flip your hand when you do a flop shot?

Flop- zero green to work with and plenty of trouble around... Stick or die. I almost never need a true flop shot. I play it, but often defer to a simple lob.

Lob- I play this with a square face, and a flip. High soft shot that doesn't stick as well as a flop. Play when you have more green to work with. This is my bread and butter.

Cut- I've never played this shot during a round, and only tinker with it for fun. I don' know when to use it... Never needed it.

OT- Every since I've started using Adriana's pic as my avatar, I've been getting more profile views from members I don't even know. PERVERTS!!!

Yesyes this is what I was looking for......definitions, that is. That mostly makes sense BTW.

I'm guessing a "Cut" is not necessarily high trajectory but is high spin?

According to one of Brian's old podcasts (if I remember correctly), his definitions were:

Lob shot -- A shot with on-purpose throwaway to add loft to the shot.

Flop shot -- A shot that is "fat" on purpose. It can also have lob shot throwaway, but doesn't have to.

I don't think he gave a definition of a cut shot, but I think in TGM-speak, a "cut" shot is any shot with vertical hinging. I may be mistaken though.
