is this an example of b-torque?

i'm trying to grasp the concept a little better. i was watching this video of rafael nadal. see how the racquet moves sharply from top right to bottom left of the frame before it planes up and rips through the ball? is that the idea behind beta torque?

it's an awfully powerful motion. tons of lag and quite a "jump" as well.

Rafa is jumping up to increase the upward force vector from racket to ball to get more topspin. He achieved his shoulder torque that whips his left arm when his left foot was still planted on the ground.

Jeez! If you start posting tennis vids, then you'll accuse me of being a knowitall again... because I worked on tennis before golf, and basketball before that. I'm a swinging, stroking, slam-dunking machine ....:rolleyes::D:p

The hips don't 'stall'... they rotate fully through their kinetic and kinematic sequences. What you are looking at is the 'followthru' of the hips after Rafa jumps off the ground and rotations are mostly unloaded. Don't get me started .... 'open' versus 'closed' kinetic chains.
