I'm not against trackman or using the numbers. Trackman is a great observation tool. Combined with expert teaching, it's a great combination.

What if they introduce their new model next year, and a digitally synthesized woman's voice activates after the shot offering suggestions for improvements?

What does trackman know about swing mechanics? 0.

Huh?

Trackman can tell you what components work, and what ones don't. The difference is that Trackman bases it's judgement on results, rather than on what looks good on camera.

No one has argued that Trackman can tell you what to do. But it can definitely tell you if what you've done is working or not.

It doesn't know ANYTHING about swing mechanics. It does know about your swing - and what you program into the ball - shot after shot after shot.

Any Golfing Machine enthusiast should be thrilled that there is an objective measuring device that validates that there are trillions of ways to produce "straight zeros" (or any "workable" combination you desire) and play very accomplished golf.

Homer Kelley would have one set up in his garage whether he had to make a loan or not.

That is the newest response to technology....that it really doesn't know swing mechanics...absolutely silly.

Because it doesn't have to, all it shows you is what your ball did...why is this so hard for some to comprehend? What kind of tool could be better than that?

It's scary that someone could be so dependant on drawing lines and not be enthusiastic about what gets delivered to the ball. As a teacher, it is the most liberating thing possible.

Finally, we won't screw over the athletic swinger that does so many funky 'looking' things but makes the ball fly well. We won't be distracted by the overall look of the swing. We can finally get an idea of what that look delivers to the ball.

How can anyone serious about helping people not be drawn to that?

Scary!

Stop the crying.

Has anyone read my post? I support trackman. I agree that HK would have owned one.

I'm outta here.

I am reading this as swing mechanics are more important than trackman numbers?

If not, than I have misunderstood your post.

I read ALL your posts, but I think the comment that John Graham is referring to is what is setting folks off.

Swing Mechanics is a MEANS to an END.

And the end are on three pages of TrackMan readouts.

It has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt, that no one uses a "Horizontal Hinge Action" during impact, or even just before and just after, and certainly not "hip high to hip high."

Can someone tell me what "Horizontal Hinge Action" is?

The end being your score.

And your score is a means to an end. The end being your happiness.

Closing or opening the club face like a door hinge while the ball is on the club.
