Guys over at LB think he's a bonified hitter. Looks like he has a huge plane shift from the backswing to the downstroke.

I think the club's position at the top is what throws people off. But I think that the shaft's position is due to the lack of wristcock; as high as his hands are at the top of his swing, I would think that they're at the end rather than the top. Am I off base here?

no changing planes, no intricate manipulating of the wrists - just straight back, in and up on plane then BAM into the back of the ball as hard as you can.

super quiet lower body

text book hitter.

LOL. I swear I see a plane shift there at the top, but what the heck do I know compared with others around here? Can someone explain my (mis)perception?

These are quotes from a site to remain nameless.:D

My post is meant to be a joke.

My post is meant to be a joke.

Is this a discussion of Holmes' swing or a rip on Lynn's site?
Whether it is meant to be a joke or not, it still comes off looking like a put down of Lynn's site. I know Brian will delete this post as soon as he reads it, but I will still say my piece. Tom, so you are now joining Brian in ripping any and all connected to Lynn Blake? Do you guys have any idea how lame you appear? [V]

The site wasn't named - the rip is on the analysis, regardless of it's origin, which is 180 degs off. Holmes is a Swinger not a "text book hitter", and the statement that he has a "super quiet lower body" is absurd.

efnef.

Tom is right.

The guy changes planes, has a shoulder turn takeaway, and lower body is as active as it can be.

If I say anything as silly, please rip me.

Please don't tell me someone said JB Holmes has a quiet lower body?

This John Holmes does not have a quite lower body, either ;)

Now that they've shown him close up...what do you think?

The announcers are stumped...not the first time...but they truly have nothing to say about why he hits it so far.

Ryan~

I didn't hear the analysis but maybe what they meant was that more players are straightening the front leg and clearing the hips faster (photos 9-12)but not producing his distance.

At one time Tiger described his extra 20 yards move, "by snapping my left leg straight, my hips clear faster and speed the movement of my shoulder, arms and legs. This is an unorthodox move meant solely for power.......I straighten that left leg as quickly as I can on the through-swing."

How will that knee do?
