Jackknifing

Comes from not swinging the clubhead on a wide enough arc usually.
Instead of the club head being (slightly) out-tossed so that it gets stretched away from you so that you can now swing the weight at the bottom of the shaft............It gets jackknifed because some or several elements in the kinematic chain have folded up (tugging for example) instead of having been stretched out. It is like unintentionally introducing slack during the time that you should be taking slack out. It will rob you of power. It will keep you from feeling where the clubhead is in space. It usually happens in the first phase of the downswing.
