Has anyone got any videos or swing sequences of Johnny Miller at his prime? Quite hard to find, partly because it was a long time ago and partly because his prime didn't last that long. I know there's a sequence in Historic Golf Photos.

Cheers!

Didnt realize his release was that sweepy. Could that be the reason for the lean left at the top?

Easy to see why he was so accurate. Great swing.

Dear Brain,

What is your opinion with the cam setup in this sequence? Seems like right of Mr. Jonny Miller? But anyway, thanks for the sequence and drawing.

I notice players back in the day had a very forward ball position compared to current players.Perhaps they needed to shift more laterally.

In the 73-4 sequence he gets into a much better squat position than his early days. His early day leg action looks like Micklesons today.
How long til he fires Butchie?

His right hand grip is incredible. Has anyone on the site played with such a weak right hand? If so, what do you find as the benefit? It looks much better than a strong right hand, more golf like if that makes any sense.

The question I have for Brian (or others) is I the rotation is around that point at base of head, between shoulder sockets, but I see Miller has a decent amount of changing spine from facing into his left hip at address to moving his hips back and his angle tilts towards right hip (following a little "step on right foot" and slide from Miller?) and facing away from the target at end of backswing. (The hip position there look more like what Brian describes in NHA2). And I guess if Miller had rotated his hips even more on takeway and further around the spine might appear to be facing more up and down and less away from target (because it is more behind the player) or even facing back towards target again. True? Does any of that mean anything? Do you want to have to add more tilt to impact for some patterns and want to have to add less tilt through downswing in others?
