Judging the Wind

Is there a way to understand what a 1 club or 2 club wind is without merely guessing?

I'm pretty good at it just by feeling but I don't really have a good way of describing or talking to a student about it.

I think that you have to say instinct for the better players.
For people who wouldn't describe themselves as such, I think 10 miles an hour plays 1 club different, 20 mph = 2 clubs, for mid irons. Shorter irons are more affected, longer clubs less so...
