rose is struggling just a little at the open. he hasnt had the success so far this year as he did last year.

hes been hitting his characteristic pull/pull hooks again. my thoughts are he he has a too stationary head, gets on top of the sweetspot and then swings pretty hard left.

how would people go about fixing this obvious problem

He seems to come out of his tilt a lot. Not sure about this Open but I remember him hitting a lot of pulls.

Haven't studied him lots or anything but something is telling me...a good Soft Draw candidate...?

I got blasted for suggesting his swing wasn't in the top echelon. He starts down too much with his hands and doesn't use the ground nearly enough in his trtansition, putting his swing ahead of sequence. Then he throws it thru impact. Needs incredible timing or he'll pull it every time.

why is it that "timing" is always blamed for inconsistency, when it could just as easily be something static that he has let go awry(i.e. ball position, alignment)?

Seperate from this thread and it's happenings.....and whatever arguing that may or may not ensue.....which I want no part of BTW...:D...

...as a point all by itself- I am with you 100%. "Timing" is way the heck too vague of a thing to me. My big peeve tho is when it's touted as the problem with and solution to everything.

I like Jack, Ben Hogan, Arnie and those type of guys' approach..............hit it hard baby.

That is to say- make an assertive swing.

I guess it would have to do with your "personal style" too though.........but styles aside.....my beef is when it's pushed as a cure-all when there are real problems to take care of.

It's not uncommon for me to perform a Red-Faced Spine Breaker (Hard Swing) after recieving this advice. Angryyyyyyyy!!:eek::D

BTW yes.....

He is a good player obviously but I look at Rose and I just see PULL.

He looks like he is trying to "get through it" and stay in his spine angle.

He takes a good rip at it but to me needs some freakin TILT.
