Left wrist outside left shoulder at impact

I probably need to adjust my impact fix position. My left wrist is well outside my left shoulder at impact fix. I understand that in that case, the left wrist , not the left shoulder, becomes low point and the swing center. What are the dangers of having the hands too far forward at impact? A lot of swing sequences, including Brian's, show the hands either under the left shoulder or ever so slightly outside it at impact.
