In watching DT's putting stroke, it appears that he takes the putter "more leftward" immediately after impact than any other player. Any comments on the advantages / disadvantages of this, or am I just imagining this? Looks like the face stays square to the target line while the putter head moves left - looks almost like a "cut" stroke.

Look forward to hearing about it.
Based on what I've seen and/or heard, KJ is a very good putter, especially on quick greens.
I question the legality of the super thick grips he uses (though the only part of the rule that they might arguably break is that the grip must be 'plain in form' - clearly, in my book they are 'unusual' in form. The lawyers must have argued that plain basically means 'regular'). I'm not questioning his win in any way, but think they should be banned.
I hope that this may help answer your question:In watching DT's putting stroke, it appears that he takes the putter "more leftward" immediately after impact than any other player. You guys are too much!
THIS IS WHAT ALL THE BEST PUTTING TEACHERS ARE WORKING AROUND!!
If you make an ON PLANE STROKE, and hit the ball on the way up, you HAVE TO HAVE THE FACE OPEN.
Geez....
Or you can HOOK 'EM IN like Eldrick.
Didn't Scotty Cameron do some kind of study on putting stroke consistency and said that David Toms was the best? I think I remember reading that in some golf rag a few years back.
The study said that David's stroke made the putter face stay square longer than any other player on tour, but like we all know if you are hitting a little bit up or down on the ball, dead square is not always good. David putts his best with a little more hook action, hitting up a little bit and the face a little open, he "cuts" his putts and sometimes the direction is a little inconsistent as we saw on Sunday. A new look with a putter that's a little more heel shafted and little more "hook" swing and he could do some serious damage this year combined with his ballstriking.
What is he yielding now?
