Hello all, Greetings from Dayton,Ohio. My name is VJ Russell and this is my first post. Let me begin by saying Thank You to all of you that make this site GREAT. I am a brand spankin' new 31 year old golfer that has decided to take up this game in the dead of winter, what kind of genius am I??:p I am writing to ask if there are any very talented guys/gals out there that can help me get off on the right foot this winter and help me with my game? I have already contacted Brian and plan on seeing him as much as necessary in the spring when he makes it to Louisville. The thing is I can't wait that long and I would like to get some help Immediately. I have begun to develop a pattern myself, but I am afraid I am screwing it up and I don't want to ingrain bad habits. At the same time I can't keep a frikin club out of my hand...man this game is addictive and I still haven't hit a ball any futher than 20 yards:D As I said I live in Ohio and I am willing to drive hours if I have to. Any help/suggestions are appreciated.

I'd suggest buying the Building Blocks video. I'd also say that Brian himself would probably gladly give you some help on the phone if you've already booked lessons with him. I would advise against going to see another instructor if you're planning on seeing Brian. Do what you can to figure out things for yourself. The less cluttered your head can be with swing information, the better :D .

"...still haven't hit a ball any further than 20 yards."

I agree with curtisj and suggest you start with some small/basic goals. Never Slice Again will help you build some nice confidence in a go-to shot. After that, your lessons with Brian will help you improve even faster than if you were tabula rasa.

Okay...I have ALL the VIDEOS..I need HANDS ON. I will be in Pittsburgh next weekend to watch the Super Bowl with my wifes family...They are HUGE Steeler Fans. I like the Saints(orginally from Louisiana) so I think I can make it out of the house to take a lesson.

Even if the instructor was taught by Brian???

vjsinger,

Go see Brian, he teaches in Louisville all summer long. I live in Indy and it's the best 2 hr trip I made in '07. I plan on going back in May.
