Martin Kaymer - Slight Spoiler

What happened to his game?

I know the popular explanation is: he tried to start playing a draw for Augusta in 2011 and hasn't been the same since. Yet only 2 or 3 months earlier he obliterated a strong field in Abu Dhabi and performed well in the Match Play. I believe he's won only once since then...

I recognize it's difficult to consistently win at the highest level, but this is a guy who went from dominating performances to struggling to compete (today is a good example).

Does anyone see anything in his swing ? I know he's been toying with different putters - maybe the next belly convert? It would be tragic to see another Duval or Baker-Finch.

5 year exemption, that's what happened.

some use it to see how much money they can make, some use the time to institute changes.

he obviously falls into the latter category.

I heard him say yesterday that he feels that he's striking it "very well". So I guess the answer is: this game is hard enough to derail even the best talents from time to time.

I like his game, demeanor and swing. I hope he returns to form.
