Hi Folks,
I recently took a lesson from a Certified "method'' teacher here in Pittsburgh. This "Method" has become very popular in the past few years and I figured since there was an instructor close to me,I'd see what it was all about. I was told that this THE way to swing a club. This was the swing no matter your height, weight, age, etc. My grip was ok, stance a bit wide but all an all, not bad he says. So now we go to the beginning of the swing. I am told to turn my left hand slightly under so as to keep the face pointing at the ball the first few feet back,I was told Jack also did this. The chest is to stay centered as I pivot ,actually it's more of a straitening of the hip as apposed to a pivot. Now as I reach the top and get into the "throwing" position I am to spin my right foot towards the target and "throw" the club head thru the ball while keeping my chest centered. As i released the head thru the ball I was to keep the face skywards. The grip end was at the halfway thru point and was to be facing the ground, yes.........flip it. I'm going to stop here ,there was more but Brian may not even want me posting this much. All I really want to say is this, THE ANSWERS are HERE, IF we listen and watch. There are numerous ways to swing a club, just go to any tournament driving range, not one way.

Agreed there are a lot of methods..but all these methods have to be within certain parameters..deviate from certain parameters and you cannot swing effectively..=)

In writing this post I wanted others to see what is being taught out there. Spin your right foot as you flip the club to begin your downswing...I thought I misheard! Secret double pivot,,,,,,,,,,HUH. Have my left palm facing DOWN thru impact. And yes , trying to spin a fricking meatball was fun. Has anyone ever spun a meatball??? I honestly believe they see these 1000 frames per second pictures and teach positions on what they THOUGHT was happening. Some of these "system" guys teach on what they FELT they were doing ,or what someone else was doing, not on what the reality actually was. A huge problem with this teaching is no matter your size, strengths, weakness, whatever, they only have one way to teach. After this lesson I studied the swing of the man where all there teaching stems, what I saw was not what they were teaching. I would like to see if Brian could take this swing and break it down in TGM terms. Anyway, asked what I wanted for Christmas, I simply replied,2 hrs. of Manzella's time. I just want to learn to do it right. I'm done rambling for now........maybe?

I think I've given enough hints as to which method. I'm trying to abide by the rules of the forum .
