He's All Pull(Pure Swinger) Whether He Realizes it or Not...

I think Tom pulls so hard that the pull becomes a push just at the right time before release.

Due to the Time Delay to the Brain Etc... the GolfBall is "Long" Gone By the time He Feels the Right Hand Push.... The Right Hand Push He Feels is the ClubHead(Shaft) Slowing Down After Ball Contact.... Have a Great Day With Your New Found Knowledge.....:)

No.

The right arm and left wrist FORCE ACROSS THE SHAFT is there. The MATH says so.

Agreed the Force Exists....

No.

The Man(Tom) Says He Feels the Right Hand Force Near Ball Contact.... The Question is the Direction of the Force.... Is the Force Pushing Against His Right Hand or is He Pushing With His Right Hand to cause the Force.... You Might Ask Him(Tom) which it is... He Initially indicated that He didn't know whether He was Pushing or Being Pushed... Have a Great Day....:)

Need a Shaft "Strain Gauge."

But we KNOW it is there.

You know Brian, there are a couple people here in the forum  with engineering degrees that could do this pretty easily. An epoxied shaft straingauge setup with LabView setup for data collection is really viable.

It's just a matter of knowing the sensor range and accuracy required.

Depending on what you want to know, we could be looking at 3 sensors, or 20sensors, or more.

Mike Finney's Driver Set-up

I noticed Mike appears to set the driver on the ground with the center of the club head directly behind ball. I thought Brian teaches one to line up the center to the ball while hovering and when set it down to the ground it would be toe-behind-ball.

Drivers swings from many long term members also shows center-behind-ball setup.

I haven't tried it yet so just a little curious.

Can you say for sure the head of his driver is on the ground the screen dimensions don't allow me to say for sure that it is.

I thought True Temper's old shaft fitting system was similar to what you would need. I forget what the system was called but it basically measured the stress on the shaft the entire swing so they could pinpoint which shaft would work best.

Looking closely, and knowing Mike, and having just seen Mike hit a few dozen Drivers at his CoolClubs fit, I know he does the "measure up and drop down toward the toe" thing that Ben Doyle taught us all.

Interestingly, at PING, PING had PINGMAN 5 set up with the ball in the heel and with the face somewhat "up."

This allowed for the shaft droop that happens during the swing.

:)

I was just at the John Deere Classic and I saw MANY guys addressing their drivers in the middle or even closer to the heel. I thought that was interesting.

But then I think of Hogan addressing his drives off the toe (as far as I know) and maybe being the greatest driver of all time.

Now...that doesn't mean it's "right"...but it sure wouldn't be wrong.

I conclude that golf is just the craziest thing ever. (except for glass eating)

Thank God for guys like Brian figuring things out.
