Mike Weir and others

I guess I'm adressing this question specifically at members like Kevin and others who have the game to play tour golf...
I just looked at Mike Weir finishing dead last in the Memorial - Very much a shame given how good he is/was. What sort of things absolutely cripple a tour player to that extent? If I watched Mike Weir goofing around in a regular fourball with his mates, would you see all of the horrible stuff that seems to go on on Tour?
Interested to see what sort of responses are put forward

It's a very fine line between good and losing your game. I'm sure he plays well in practice (maybe not of course) but the confidence gets zapped. Now he feels like he has to make the most of every exemption he gets. Maybe a little injury causes a swing flaw, etc. But also, let's not forget, he's over 40 and was never very long. Some of those guys just get fazed out by the nature of the game now.

He Had Elbow surgery last year and hasn't really recovered. Like Kevin said, he was never long and now he appears to be very short. There is almost no margin for error when your very short. You have to be top 20 in Driving Accuracy and very good on and around the greens. I don't think Muirfield Village is a fun place for a short hitter when it's cold and wet.

Muirfield Village can eat anybody up. Just look at elite gold medal ball strikers like Tommy Gainey, Gary Woodland and Boo Weekly. They all shot a billion so it's quite a test no matter who you are. That being said, short and crooked is a bad combo out there.

I see what you did there ...
