Most comfortable Golf Shoes. What are they?

I have a pair of Adidas powerbands and they're the most uncomfortable golf shoes I've ever owned. On the flip side, I have a pair of running type shoes made by Adidas that are great for the summer. Cool and comfortable.

Other than that, I've always wore Nike because they were comfortable/stylish.

However, the above presumes your size is Medium to Wide. We narrow foot guys don't have much choice. Ask me 20 years ago and I could tell you the name of the Foot Joy last that best fit my size 13B foot.

Now Foot Joy has changed to one last ( a last is what they build the shoe around ) per style, closed their US plant and moved production to ? You guessed it, China.

I have tried the Gel-Fusion model. Comfortable, good support, but now discontinued. Had a pair of Reel Fits. Hated these simply because of my skinny feet. I couldn't tighten them to my liking.

Now I have a couple of pairs of Dry Fits. I like them and they are reasonably priced.

My final comment is simply directed at cost versus design. Remember, skinny feet. In an obvious attempt to save a penny in material cost, they have shortened the tongue on latest models, including the high end Icon.
Digs into my ankle.

I feel your pain. I have skinny size 11 feet. Icons feel like I'm wearing the box they came in. The DryJoys are pretty good. You should check out Puma. Very skinny shoes.

Favorite shoes are like favorite pizza. Ask 20 people and you are likely to get 20 answers.
For me, Ecco is hands down the best for a walker. Very comfortable and they last for years. Still waterproof after 3 full seasons.

It was a shame they quit making the Footjoy classics. They had lasts from A to EEE. I am afraid the ICON is an ECCO copy.

Comfort vs. Performance

I am a shoe guy.

Really.

I am still shedding tears over a pair of lightweight Nikes that I didn't buy on me and Lisa's last little vacation a couple months ago. :(

After we lost basically everything in Katrina, I eventually got over it--sort of.

I miss the ireplaceable pictures, and, well, the shoes. :D

Of course I am kidding...but not completely kidding. ;)

So folks, as far as golf shoes go, I have tried 'em all. More or less.

The Addidas shoes are mostly good, but are nowhere near as comfortable as their orignal ones from years ago (according to Tom Bartlett) and nowhere near as comfortable as Foot-Joy's Contour line.

But the Contours are basically uselss as a real tournament golf shoe, they are terrible on sidehill lies.

Ecco makes some of the best shoes ever, and I have never worn the $450 top-o-da-line Tour Model, but the four different models I have tried are all better for preformance than Contours, but not as bedroom slipper comfortable.

The FJ Icons are nice looking, but have a heel, and I hate hitting balls standing on an incline. They will never be called super comfortable.

I think I might try a pair of Pumas.

Maybe Merrell will start making Golf Shoes...

I am a walker and I have no less than 12 pairs of shoes - wear a size 12 wide.

Original Adidas Powerband (1.0) are the most comfortable shoes I have ever had. They were great right out of the box - no break in.

Adidas Tour 360 LTD look fantastic but are brutal if you are a walker. They wear my heels out. Haven't really worn them enough to break them in properly but my feel cannot take 18 holes of walking so they might never get there.

Footjoy Classics are great - but take forever to break in. After they are good and worn they feel very good. Getting there is not fun but not as bad as the Adidas 360's.

Ecco Casual Cool are comfortable enough but not as good as the original Powerbands.

Footjoy Dryjoys - I am not thrilled with them.

Any kind of Nike - they just run small for me. I think that for those with smaller, skinnier feet they would work great. I don't even consider them anymore.

I can't wait to get my first pair of Asics golf shoes. Looks like a running shoe.

I switched to the gym shoe looking golf shoes, any brand doesn't matter. Best thing i ever did; i care about my feet not that it looks weird with khakis.

I love the Contours for comfort and don't think I'll be able to switch. But I get what your are saying. I have a flat wide foot and the Wide FJ Contours work well for me but I am tempted to try the Eccos.

Nothing feels as good to me as a broken in pair of Footjoy Classics.

I bought a pair of FootJoy Classics more than ten years ago. They were so good looking I told myself, "No way I am wearing these until ‘I got game!’" Well, just looked at them, still in the box, still brand new. And to think they could be all broken in by now. Oh well maybe this year. :)

Fred Couples' shoes?

He looks like he is wearing shoes without spikes. I remember switching to plastic spikes back in the day and they were much more comfortable. Still like the sound of the old metal on pavement though. I can't imagine a tour player playing without spikes of some kind. Anybody know what he is wearing?

Ecco's I believe.

Brian's got it right with the Merrells.

Adidas and FJ have new models this year that are lower to the ground, so these might be worth looking at. I walk all the time, and FJs have never given me any real problems except some were a little loose in the heel.
Adidas are a little hard on your feet, especially on the bottom, but they finally got their sizing right so I might try 'em again.

I hate to admit that I have 15 pairs of shoes, only 2 Adidas. I usually buy them at end of year sales events and find them again in the spring.

the new Adipure Nuovos and Adipures feel wonderful.

they're far and away more comfortable than the powerbands and tour 360s they've put out recently
