What is the most important move on the downswing (pick only one)
1, is it the way your backswing starts
2, position of tail bone
3,hands starting down on plane
4,hips(right or left)
5,lower body
6,swing out to right feild
7,all above together
8, none of above

Brian, how important do you consider extensor action to be on the downswing? Seems like downward extensor action could go along way in preventing an over-the-top tendency.

I agree that all are important too, but I would pick #3 if I could only pick one.

A proper pivot on the downswing will make you use extensor action in the downswing.

Drive the right shoulder down plane. Get it down, delay the left wrist uncocking...GET SOME SNAP!

Brian, can you share with us what you feel is the most important move on downswing? Would it be Axis Tilt or Left Shoulder UP?

I agree with Brian. Maybe it's because of a different reason, but I agree. I think it matters squat about all those things. The only thing that truly matters is impact.

If the spirit of this thread is most important for the downswing than I say its #3. Get the hands going downplane is closest to one of the imparitives-straight plane line.

If you get this right and blow everything else I think you can still get decent results.

CLUBFACE CONTROL!!!!!

What?

ClubFACE Control.

What IS clubface control?

The ability to—without bending the left wrist—square up the club at separation.

Remember...ALL CLUBFACE ARE OPEN AT THE TOP.

So, I don't care what you call it, this talent—is THE KEY.

Why?

Here ya go:

If you can square up the clubface on the downswing without bending the left wrist (as opposed to leaving it open or bend the left wrist to square it or both), you can:

1. Start your backswing without having to hover over the ball like a slicer

2. Move your tailbone correctly on the downswing to GET TO THE inside aft-quadrant

3. Start your hands down ON PLANE, because you don't have to come over the top to "play your slice."

4. Have perfect hip motion, both in slide vs. open and start-down

5. See #4

6. Swing out to right field, BECAUSE YOU CAN

What do I win?

IS THERE A NINE IN THIS THREAD? ACTUALLY THERE IS SO MUCH
IN THE GOLF SWING THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED, THAT NOT ONE SINGLE ELEMENT CAN MAKE THE DEAL REAL.
