Get the right hand more on top of the grip and work on the ball bouncing drill. It looks to me that he's getting too under plane.

he hits the ball really far tho, seems effortless. Also, he's the best short game player I ever play with...
Don't know if i should be tinkering his swing

He's gonna beat me again haha

He can stay effortless, just needs to fix his path.

werd, but he doesn' feel comfortable changing his grip. He's been playing that grip for 20 years.

We have tried to tell him to weaken the grip but but but...

He'll have to find a way to keep the face open just enough to fit his path then. Otherwise, he'll keep hooking and you'll keep beating him:)

good enough for me. He can't swing to the left. Always hit it fat, I can tel you that.

grip is ok if he didn't move a mile off the ball in the backswing. his #1 problem is that he moves off the ball a ton and this will exaggerate his inside/out path and ultimately lead to him slamming the face shut quickly and hook it off the earth.

He needs to make a backswing pivot that feels TO HIM like it is stack and tiltish..but on video it will look "normal."

The first one looked like a block right to me. Isnt that what we're really fixing? The strong grip and other things he put in is to make sure he doesnt hit that shot and he still did in the face on view.

Both hands look strong to me, but then I know how I'd feel about the grip change if I didn't have an alternative strategy in place for squaring the clubface. So, I'd pitch a package of weaker grip together with NSA stuff - twistaway and roll. His ball position seems quite far back for shifting his path to the left.

Comfortable is a like a massage, a soft bed...but the relearning process in golf can be uncomfortable. If he wants to keep that grip, he'd have to learn a different move, which would be way more uncomfortable, and probably never happen. He can change the grip or just play courses with a lot of dogleg lefts.

Yep. Strong grip, hook, aim right, block...you know the drill

the first one looked like a bowling ball. Curve from right to left.

that was my initial thought as well, move away too much from the ball. But I didn't want to tell him something i wasn't sure
