I went to see Brian in mid October as a 6 handicap to fix 3 things:
1. Heel contact
2. Big time Driver issues costing me 4-5 shots per round
3. Overall inconsistent ball striking
I had in my mind a few things he would change and boy was I surprised. After a 2 hour workout, I had a new setup, new backswing, a new transition move and a new finish location. (Gather the marbles type pattern) That’s all. It showed me how much I really did not know about my swing.
Well, almost a month later, I have hit 20 buckets without 1 heel shot or shank. That has never happened to me, ever! In the past and even after NSA, I would hit it well for a couple weeks and then go back to struggling for a week, then play great, then struggle for a week….etc. I have never had such a sustained period of solid strikes in the nuts of the clubface. My trajectory and direction is so much straighter. And, like most of you who have gone to see him, I was so impressed with the knowledge, the passion and the delivery method Brian uses. I think I was a tougher nut to crack than most, but I am on my way now. (Codename: soft fade BTW).
I have never hit driver better/longer and am much more shallow at impact with more open hips. (I am now a Hi Bore tour guy BTW) .
With this in mind I took the new swing out for a spin this past weekend and had a mixed bag (which I kind of expected) I played a new course (72.7 129, 6850 yds) and got off to a tough start after an opening par, but finished the last 13 holes in 2 over.) The key is, that I hit many shots that I had never hit before and they were directly attributable to my changes. The 205 yard 4 iron to 6 inches for a tap in bird was a thing of beauty.
Anyway, I will wrap this up by saying to those on the fence, get off and go see Brian. Best golf investment I have ever made and will return in 6-9 months to get to “Do it Right”. Thanks Brian.
