I decided to put a post on here to thank Brian and to offer an unsolicited testimonial for those thinking about working with him.
I'll start by introducing myself. I am 32 and a cardiologist in Shreveport, LA. I have been playing golf since I was a teenager with little formal instruction. I played to an 8 handicap in college but gave it up in med school due to time contraints (and some growing frustration). I started back playing last summer at the behest of some friends and got bitten by it all over again. I was seduced by the flat swing around your body stuff trend (one plane). I could actually shoot in the mid 80's on the strength of iron play with this swing but could not drive it any significant distance. Even worse I had a very open clubface very early in the backswing (part of an effort to swing flat and connected) and was always flirting with the hosel with a wedge shot. Perhaps most distressing was the enormous pulls that were my typical miss (a driver 60 yards straight left!!!).
After a large amount of range work with little sustainable improvement (500+ balls a week for 4 months), I was disgusted. I had found this forum by accident while trying to sort out a vicious bout of shanks and had read some of the threads with interest. I bought the videos but since my problem was somewhat more complex I decided to get a one on one with the man himself. Three hours with him and it was worth every penny. He got me on a soft draw backswing with some alignment/address corrections. Within 30 minutes I was seeing a better more powerful ballflight. A couple of trips to the range last week to get used to a set up and backswing that were quite different from anything I had ever felt before. I have learned to hit a real push hook now and have picked up 10-20 yards on the irons and can carry a driver 250-270 (before 250 carry and roll was all I could manage).
I can tell you that this Manzella guy is the real deal and knows what he is talking about. He certainly gets results. I would highly recommend him to anyone serious about improving their game. By the way he is just as entertaining in person as he is on video.
Thanks Brian
