SORRY I WAS NOT HITTING A BALL AS I WAS IN MY BACKYARD.
after taping this then watching it i think i take it too inside because i am not hinging my wrist up at the half way point and the result is whipping it back into the deadzone which results in over the top. looks like my butt end of the club is pointing way outside of the target line three quarters through the backswing. PLEASE HELP THIS STUFF IS ADDICTING. I WOULD BET ANYONE THIS CAME IS MORE ADDICTING THAN DRUGS!!!!

thanks bman, i thought it was a result of my backswing that was making me come over the top, i will try to come more from the inside, i tried to hitting it more from the inside and the ball would hook.

brian, your not a big fan of a braced right knee on the back swing as I recall, his seems to be pretty braced, think that is part of the downswing problem?

not sure but can tell you one thing, after seeing my own swing i see that my arms take the club away and there is almost no shoulder turn whatsoever. seems like my shoulders start to turn at the take away then my arms just swing to the top without completing my shoulder turn. WHERES THE TURN!!! tonight at the range i just worked on everything working away together. the only swing thought i had was that as my arms start THE move away from the ball i wanted to feel like someone was pushing my right shoulder away so that the turn is in sync. well i hit 2 buckets and very very very happy. then again i can go back tomorrow and be like "what happened"?

In one of Brain’s video he talked about some saying that you turn the right shoulder along the wall and touch the wall with the left shoulder and then as I swing key drive the right shoulder to the ball. I have been using my arms also to take the club away thinking I was getting the shoulder deep enough. I found this clip on you tube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yfOxXFiqzI
Now I use this swing key and have been very happy to be hitting a soft draw instead of fade/slice.

Your PROBLEM is your downswing.

I had a lesson tonight and the instuctor put my swing on video and analyzed. i was out of position at the top as the club was floating close to my head however, Brian manzella was right, my instructor said my problem was on the downswing. there were a number of issues. after fixing my back swing these were the major problems
1. i was coming way out of my posture at impact coming up out of it.
2. when the club got to the ball my body would stop rotating through the shot which resulted in an arm swing only, the arm swing out of synch with the body and a chicken wing.

the instructor wants me to work on staying in my posture and when i get to the top of the swing start the swing by uncoiling my body through the shot without using my arms.
(instead of using my arms he wants me to uncoil my upper body completely through the ball so the club is always in front of my body.
