She's young and very flexible which allows her to get away with this swing. She also has great timing that allows her to flip....like me...lol. Paula Creamer seems to do the same thing. I want to see their swings in 10 years from now as the body looses some of its flex. But it does leave me wondering how someone on here knows she gives good head....lucky bastard !!!

Natalie has extra extra vertebra

NatalieGulbisSwingTwist.jpg

Natalie Gulbis may be universally acclaimed as good-looking, but the same can't be said for her golf swing.

Even to the untrained eye, Gulbis' swing is unconventional. Her head dips sharply after impact, causing her trademark blonde ponytail to whip around to the right side of her face. Those familiar with the mechanics of the golf swing will notice peculiar characteristics throughout Gulbis' action.

John Gulbis has coached his daughter since she first picked up a golf club at age 4. He still travels with Natalie frequently and offers advice, but it's Butch Harmon who engineered the swing changes that have enabled Gulbis to perform so much more consistently over the last 14 months.

Harmon became Gulbis' coach after she turned professional in 2001. He vividly remembers the first time he saw his pupil hit a golf ball.

"I had never seen her play but heard she had the most unusual swing in the world," Harmon recalled. "I was more curious to see it than anything else. Then when I did, I couldn't believe what I saw. I've never seen a person at the top of the swing have their right elbow on the other side of the ball. It was on the front side of the ball. Because she has an extra vertebra in her back, she can screw herself into the ground with her turn. Her head was facing straight backwards (away from the target) and yet her right elbow was on the other side of the ball

Cool pics....that DTL one of Creamer is mint....

Good swing...

Head seems pretty forward tho....

Punch shot I guess (dunno if that even warrants it tho).

Natalie's hands and arms position through the ball and Paula's hands and arms position through the ball, I see the difference. Could anyone tell me what disadvantage or advantage either one has because of how they use there hands and arms.
What is wrong with having the reverse of what happens in the backswing. Going from flat left wrist / bent right wrist to a bent left wrist and a flat right wrist? If its a bad thing why doesn't Butch Harmon change it? It must be well within his teachings.

Just curious because doesn't Vijah Singh do a lot of the same as Natalie. Why we are at it here, what is wrong with Vijah's swing, he seems to win plenty and hits it a ton.

It is, shall we say, less open.

;) got that fr. Brian....and it's true.

See Trevino, etc....

I like to open my face more.....cept for short pitches and some short irons.

Flexibility

That's it.

They CAN get their shoulders to turn RIGHT ON PLANE, and they do.

They BOTH have some flip though, and that is why women's golf is still lagging.

Won't be that way forever though, in my opinion.
