We are going to be rolling out our brand new website in the next few weeks.

We need an area where new people can go learn about:

Brian Manzella

All of the other Academy Instructors

What this site is all about

What I teach & why...and what I don't teach and why

So....

What are some questions that should be answered?

The good ones will be on video, the pretty good ones will be answered in text.

Thanks in advance,

Bmanz ;)

Where you teach, how you manage your schedule of lessons, travel, making videos, etc.

Possibly address your association with The Golfing Machine.

Maybe you could have a list of students. And categorize them as "active" students who you see regularly, and "long-time" students who you see every so often (like DT).

I'm sure there's more.

Unless I miss understood,
1)Why dont you teach right forearm takaway
2)Why dont you teach stack and tilt...........joe

A list of video's both free and pay-based. What the video's are about and what they focus on fixing/teaching.

How about a Manzella hands FAQ/video. There is one of Martin Hall from GC segment on youtube but how about a Manzella one.

A list of Manzella drills and exercises AND what they focus on correcting/ingraining/teaching.

Some basic short videos (short clips) on what specific body parts are supposed to do in the swing. (legs, hips, forearm role, etc)

Sticky that Manzella grip .pdf file.

One other thing I thought about... If you make some sticky's or how-to threads perhaps they could be locked out so that only moderators have the ability to post to them. We could make spin off threads for the members about the original topic but IMO there's nothing worse than sorting through 5+ pages of clutter/information on a sticky. If a spin off thread is good, perhaps the original sticky/thread could be updated to point to the spin off topic.

A detailed FAQ or encyclopedia of all the terms used by the people in this forum ie. kinetic chain, D-swing, #3 pressure point, flying wedges, accumulators etc...

Maybe a dumbed-down TGM explanation/decipher. (there's gotta be a better way than getting the book)

A US map of where the instructors are located.

And perhaps a picture of Jim on his scooter.

Here's a few....

Are you a "one pattern teacher"? Why/why not?

Are you a "book literalist"? Why/why not?

If TGM is imperfect, does it still have value & relevance in the BManz world of golf instruction?

What sets B. Manzella apart from the 20,000 or so golf pro's who can't teach a lick?

How can your site/videos/teaching make average golfers better?

imo, don't get into "book literalist" in paragraph 1-2 of your writeup. Express your philosophy forthrightly and you don't even have to mention a "book." If wanting to do, then add a section on your historical "learning golf teaching" section.

Other Questions to Answer:
1. In answering "why should I go see BManz" you need to create a contrast with other instructors. My suggested answer for this area would relate to customized patterns, good troubleshooting, and assesment from a Matrix pov which will help THAT golfer's presenting issues.

2. In talking about the site, you need to have a good link of the available reources - videos pdf's, good writeups etc. Right now it is very hard to find video's to buy them. Even if the Building Blocks or whatever video is 1.0 (and you want to change it) make sure it is findable.

3. For the instructors, imo, you need to highlight that they are tied to the waist to the BMGA philosophy. Theoretically, there is nothing worse than wanting to utilize a BManz instructor "near me" and ultimately finding out out he has his own spin and doesn't use the Matrix.

4. If you are going to use/promote the online lessons - then you might recommend a particular webcam for people who don't have them (maybe sell them with an Amazon link), and even a write up for hooking one up and what software package you want to use. For the squeamish you might want the ability to get a "half back" money gurantee if the experience is a flop or if the student can't communicate or show what his issues are.

5. KEEP THE EXISTING FORUM content! If there is time, or you could certainly find volunteers to post up links, make stickies like dOn mentioned of the great articles and threads that people keep getting directed to.

Good luck, I'm sure it will be great.

A forum implies a meeting place for discussions. However there are relatively few discussions but instead many questions.

I would like to see a more elaborate structured list of topics. It is now mainly one big pile where everything is heaped.

Perhaps, at least restore the old format where discussions and questions had separate entries making it also easier to search for specific information.

You've said before that your students have tended to have above average length. Talk about your theories on power development, components that create power in the swing, and how your understanding of creating power has changed or remained the same over the years, especially as it relates to your experiences on the practice tee.

Brian,

Some form of "Table of Contents" for your videos, shows, etc. would be very helpful. For example, if someone wanted to focus on "right shoulder down plane," he would know which YouTube show to view, without having to wade through all of the shows.

good comments

i see a lot of good comments. If i may make a suggestion, when i did my website the first thing that was done was....ABOUT ME...

well not about me,,,,but about me........

here are some questions if i came to your site i would want answered.

respectfully i say you should start about me page (about you)

1-who you are name, age, years teaching...etc

2- golf background...high school...college...pro

3- remembering how you got started in golf

4- who were your greatest influences........BEN DOYLE etc..etc

5- why did you decide to make the golf machine.....your way of teaching??

6- pros that you have worked with.......successful amateurs etc

Brian the main thing here is a bio......about you.......if i didnt know you i would think......who is he....and why do i want to learn from him and his site. Credibility....most important......on the same page..i would try to get 2 or 3 testimonials...

many people will give you subjects.....but unless you SELL yourself

people wont listen to subject matter..

my opinion of course

1) Manzella Matrix... a brief understanding of the patterns it contains...

2) Manzella speak dictionary... most common terms...

3) Your 10 things you'd told yourself in the message in a bottle and why you believe they are important... would be a great video...

I would like to see a whole section dedicated to golf swings that pertain to a particular Matrix Pattern

The old old forum had a swings section that was pretty good. I would like to see pro swings that relate to what you are doing now, or at least components of swings that pertain to the different patterns. That way everybody could have at least a "loose" model done by lots of different people, so students could have a visual.

A list of forum members who have taken live lessons from you. So others could draw on their experiences if they have specific questions.

Here are some ideas. Be creative with your answers!

Who is Brian Manzella?
What are your main contributions to the golfing world?
Why should you take lessons from Brian Manzella?
How is the Manzella Academy different to other academies/schools?
What's the best way to improve my golf if I can't take lessons from you in person?

Also, I wouldn't put too much emphasis on The Golfing Machine, right forearm pickup, D-plane, etc. I would make it readable to the average golf digest reader, i.e. a keen golfer who's willing to learn but doesn't know much. Your golf knowledge has to be over a certain threshold before discussions about the D-plane becomes interesting, and most golfers haven't reached this level yet.

I'd agree with some of the previous stuff that there needs to be an organised library of your videos as there is some AWESOME information that people can't get to. I know I keep finding odd vids here and there that blow junk out of my brain.

Cover that you teach TGM and why you don't follow a certain swing recipe etc etc

I agree also on a Top "whatever number is best" of things that people tend to do

I believe the outline you have is fine with the consideration that you and the website are going to improve my golf game. What content, experience, etc gives you a edge over the other instructors on the website to obtain my goals. Are there options to learn from direct instruction, to live internet instruction to get the results done as rapidly as possible? Are there ways to get different price points on your individual products to make it affordable to most? Would you teach a Stack and Tilt swing type swing if the golfer could not reliably shift their weight to their rear foot(my own)? Clarification of the Swing matrix is essential! As sites learn they need to have marketing hype etc. it is natural to startup with buzzwords that until people start seeing the start of some of the products come thru they are clueless to their meaning. Finally Beta programs should be clarified to what they mean. Ate they guaranteed ever be a finished product (ex. building blocks). Is there additonal cost or special pricing when going from a Beta to final etc?

Good Luck on whatever direction your going in

Dave

I always like Manzella best when he's giving a smile whilst simultaneously critiquing an instructor. Why not just go on a instructor bashing tirade, people love to watch that stuff and if done correctly can be quite informative yet entertaining.
