Brian - you mentioned "compression" in the blog - something that was mentioned alot in the old testament - does project 1.68 have some new info on it? Can a player "compress" the ball better for a given clubspeed/centre strike?? Thanks.
This evening, Chamblee went on forever criticizing Tiger's post-Butch swing for being too flat. He said that by trying to emulate Hogan and swing less upright, Tiger is playing a "short-man's game" unsuited to Augusta National. Chamblee seems to be chatting with Harmon associates every day and repeating every new story they come up with as quickly as he can. What'll they come up with next? Remember: with their flat swings, McIlroy, Fowler and Garcia don't stand at chance at Augusta. And Hogan was just lucky.
After watching Woodland, Vegas and Quiros play yesterday, one thing was clear, the days of forsaking distance for accuracy are history. A long driver who can putt, like Tiger used to be, will dominate. Maybe it is just Augusta, but how in the hell do you beat a guy with ballstriking when someone bombs it 350 every hole and makes all the putts they look at?
