Cool article. I have a cousin who played football, and he ran track through college as well. Coming out of high school, some thought he had Olympic potential. The thing that hurt him was his start; some guys that saw him race in high school joked that every race he ever one was a come-from-behind victory. You could even see on the football field that it took a couple of steps for him to get going, as compared to a smaller waterbug-type back. I never gave it much thought; I thought it was just how his body worked. This article explains why he was always getting beat out of the blocks at 225 lbs. Good stuff, Jim.
