Well back to my trouble shooting. I'm definitely not a 'flipper'. If anything I can hold on a bit too long trying to retain a 'hands first' feeling. (But yes, I did buy 'Confessions of a flipper' just in case).
I went back to my age old problem of coming over the top. In NSA I keep watching it for more clues. When I get less over the top, I can really correct the problem.
Remember earlier I may have said that some part of my brain thinks more power means turn more? Well I think what happened was with NSA I was hitting draws so I thought "great, now to really pound that ball!" And it was th beginning of my downfall.
So I don't know if I can fix it, but I'm about 92.7% sure that's what's going on. I know I start my right shoulder down on the ball, but I can magically find a way to defy physics and (over) turn my shoulders at the 3/4 part of the swing and ruin a perfectly good hit.
I found a very important clue in Brian's NSA at about the 58 minute mark. First, I'm going to take less back swing, lessening the chance of my left hand cocking and opening too much. Second, (and possibly most importantly) as Brian says, I'm going to start with my left shoulder going UP , and then STOP it right there, and let my right arm pass my chest.
Hopefully I will lose less tilt, and be able to maintain better follow through.
It's taken me hours to figure this out and I haven't been able to see my instructor. So for right now this is just me experimenting.
Thanks for giving me a lot of ideas, it's all helped me eliminate a few suspect moves, but I think it is just me using my 'unwind' to hit the ball too much. We'll see... again thanks to forum members for their patience.
