I too am on the side of golfers, but sadly, we live in a country where a seemingly
normal reaction is very risky. The whole thing is on video. I can just picture some
lowlife lawyer contacting the perpetrators, and dreaming up a lawsuit against the guy
charging while swinging his club. He didn't hit him, but I'm sure something like mental duress could be dreamed up!
I have posted this story before. My friend, a 50 year old, lean, muscled, black guy is hitting
balls on the shag range. Two college guys show up and one of them starts talking about
the Texas game because my friend has the team logo on his bag. My friend tells him to go away, and leave him alone. The guy walks away, and gets a club from his bag. Then he comes back. He's mad, and starts taunting my friend. At that point my friend unzips a pocket on his bag revealing his police revolver, and asks the guy what he's going to do next. He retreats with his tail between his legs. My friend is a retired Dallas Swat Officer trained to remain calm, but clearly not someone to mess with!

Heh cool. As a former SWAT, he mighta even been able to take that club away from the guy if he didn't have a gun. (they must get hand to hand trained?)
