Coming to NO in a few weeks. Any suggestions for non-tourist restaurants? Not looking for big budget, but where the locals eat.
Also, where are you now Brian for a possible lesson?

When I was there Brian recommended Liuzza's, it was great. A real local place. Little bit of everything, New Orleans style. Brian's at English Turn. If you're gonna be there you really need to go see him.

I went to a greasy spoon called "Mothers" and absolutely loved the fried chicken and all the fixings. It's a dive, but it is darn good. If you aren't on heart meds go!

Brian recommended Tommy's Cuisine last time I was there and it is outstanding. Definitely not a tourist destination.
