Just got back from Dick's and I was swinging on a gizmo. It was basically showing I have an inside-out swing AND a closed clubface. No wonder I can hook an 8 iron 40 yards left. I was basically swinging the Soft Draw pattern but I was set up square. QUESTION: Many of my shots were 8* inside out and I hit a few fat that were more than that (one didn't even register). How many degrees (ballpark) should Soft Draw be?

Inside-out degrees?
Clubface degrees?

3 to 4 degrees inside out
1 to 2 degrees open face

Now is that set up square or 1 yard to the right? Or does it not matter. As you can see I have NO idea.

I don't have much faith in the Dick's gizmo machine. I was at Dick's the other night with my son who generally hits the ball right to left. The screen showed severe left to right shots even when I told my son to hook the #$%$ out of it.

I can actually clear up the confusion about the Dick's Sporting Goods video equipment.

Their machine's setup has a flaw, but still can work ok. The key is that for accurate (semi accurate) data you have to hit directly into the center of the wall screen. If you don't do that then it will read your spin way off. When you hit to the right side of the wall it thinks you are hitting a slice regardless of how much hook spin you have on it because the camera/sensor is from the side and not behind so it thinks the backspin is sidespin unless you start it straight. At the PGA tour store the camera/sensor is down the line so you can start the ball wherever you want there, but I'm pretty sure they juice up the distance data to give you an extra 10-15 yards.
