Good, yes?

Hickory?

I bet this guy drives it 300 and well TODAY, if you get in your time machine and bring him back.

I read that this guy, James Braid, hit a ball 395 back in the early 1900's. (Gutta Percha?)

Anyway, he wrote a book called "Advanced Golf", 322 pages, and you can now download it for free at google books because the copyright has expired. Here's the link:

Advanced golf: or, Hints and ... - Google Books

It's a pretty cool read. He even has a chapter on long driving. Interestingly, he describes his release with the right hand as similar to twisting a corkscrew into a bottle of wine.

Thought some of you guys might find this interesting.

If thats McDonald Smith, Ben Hogan said he was the best ball striker. High praise.

MacDonald Smith's swing is about as "modern" as you can get. Unbelievable that these guys had sussed it out. This is a great forum!
