Well after viewing Ben's tape, then Brian's tape..... that part is clear.

Now - re: my drill - have you ever seen this complete a description? Show me where Baker talks about the rest?

And if you want to be picky - Baker got it from Snead (or any number of others who use a 'wheel' image).
Actually, without being picky, Robert Baker spent considerable time with Mike Austin.

For me it all starts with Seymour Dunn, then Dante, then Homer. Geez, lets backtrack to the original swing thought and give credit, all you of you, with your "protective original golf thought" sound like you miss posting over on FGI.

The left hand throws a frisbee
The left hand/thumb makes a karate chop on plane
The right hand stays on the 'rim'
The right hand throws on that rim.
The body swings a rock on a string.
The shaft 'swings' on a true plane.
Everything is in balance. No wasted motions.

I still don't get why you think it's important to post these "gems" of swing thoughts. Did these only recently come into your mind? As an instructor, I would think that you would have thought of these a long time ago as a mid-to-high handicap player.

Just trying to help people learn to play better Docklands.... instructors often get too caught up in detail, and forget that simple images can convey a lot of 'feel'.....

If you don't like them, why bother posting? If you disagree with them, explain why and lets debate about it.....

BTW - nice that you chose to make that your first post....welcome to the board [}:)]

Edz does have a point here.....

While I don't like his image but he does make a good point about imagery in general. 'Images' are the greatest key you can have to making real changes in your swing. To be able to change something you must be able to visualise yourself doing it first. I think it is fundamental to a learning process to have a clear concept of what your doing but it has to be backed by a phylosopy of a system you follow.

I always first look at what im trying to change first, understand it and then apply it by either trying images ive heard about or creating my own.

If you understand the fault and you apply an image your chances of implementing it are 100 fold.

Right now my idea for my swing next time I go out is to visualise throwing a ball underhand on the downswing doing small pitch shots with my sleeves rolled back for feel of being more connected. I also have many other images to try for the exact same thing, until I find one I am comfortable with...
