Members,
What do you all recommend as the ideal pattern to use for the driver?
(NSA, SDP or NHA) ?
V/R
RASWING

They all work.

I prefer the Soft Draw Pattern myself. To me, it feels very powerful. You can nail the ball with this swing.

Having said that, you can also play quite well a fade - a number of our friends on Tour prefer a fade with the driver.

Pattern 13

What is pattern 13 and how do I learn it?

I always hear reference to pattern 13 but I don't know what it is. Any enlightenment from the feild?

LOL i don't even know

Shouldn't an authorized instructor know this? I would think Brian should tell you guys about stuff like this. If I came to you for lessons (which I've debated due to distance) I would hope you would know "Pattern 13" since it could be the best fit for me.

Maybe it requires further refinement. I don't think Brian, Jim, or any of the Manzella Academy instructors would feel comfortable teaching a pattern unless they thought it was ready for implementation.

Hope you didn't take my response as a terse remark. I was just making light of the top secret nature of pattern #13.

No prob.

I don't feel so bad now that I know Jim doesn't even know what the hell it is. I thought it might be a Manzella video. Undoubtably, it's the culmination of all patterns resulting in a perfect pattern?

I *believe* pattern 13 is driver specific; to maximize the launch conditions for a driver. It might be very different from your "normal" move at the ball. I know that my iron swing and driver swing are VASTLY different in what i'm trying to achieve

Jim,

Do you mind sharing some of your feels for this? I've been working hard on the driver for the last few weeks. Even with the information Brian shared with me I'm having troubles controlling it..thanks.

I aim a little aim to counter act the upward moving of the clubhead and i really try to feel like i'm staying behind the ball with enough tilt so that i can hit up on it. I try to envision in my mind's eye that the clubhead is approaching the ball from behind extremely close to the ground so that i can make sure it hits up on it.
