I....HATE...flopping.
Tech 'em up.

You know what annoyed me during the World Cup? Not the vuvuzelas. The FREAKIN' FLOPPIN

It's on the refs to get a handle on this stuff. The guys are gonna do whatever you allow them to get away with. If you reward them for falling like they got hit by a sniper from the cheap seats by sending them to the line, they're gonna keep doing it.

Man. Now I need a drink and a smoke to calm my nerves...:)

Can't call this one a flop. He is catching a nice little chip across the cheek. In a college game I had this very thing happen, it left my right eyebrow laying over the eye. 12 stitches and I never felt a thing. There's a reason a boxer's short hook is followed with a high elbow. A "graze" can do enough to end the fight. It does look funny though when the reaction times are in slow mo. Looks like he was hit by a sniper.

I'd bet the farm that there is a huge difference between what happened to you, and this here. He may have been grazed (and I'm being generous with that), but just from watching this clip, and having watched a lot of NBA ball growing up, it's a good bet that Bosh felt something, and then gave it a little Hollywood action to try and draw a foul.

Did I mention that I really, REALLY hate flopping??

The biggest and best collection of athletes on the planet... restricted to a confined space... no pads or helmets... oversized medulla oblongata's... for every flop there are 3 muggings.

Flopping works. The referees are making a lot of calls off the reaction of the player thats been hit. The game is too fast for them to actually see all the contact. It works the opposite way also, Shaq and Dwight Howard get hammered and there is no call because they are so big they have little reaction. The only way I see anything changing is if they review the replays, and fine guys $5,000 -$10,000 if it's an obvious flop.

Don't want to get into a debate but these are my opinions:

The NBA is probably the best sport to watch to see the best athletes in the world do amazing athletic feats. NFL is second because game is too slow compared to NBA; now before this creates a bunch of posts NFL is my favorite sport i'm just saying too much starting/stopping.

Now the problem with the NBA is as some have alluded to above, is it is probably the worst officiated major sport. Even I, an avid fan, don't understand it anymore. It's even to the point that playoffs have a different foul system, they literally don't call things in the playoffs that they would in the regular season. This is why, my beloved Bulls & even with D. Rose not being injured, probably wouldn't have won anything; great regular season team not enough stars/talent to win through the playoffs.

If you are a basketball fan and haven't been watching these playoffs, especially the Spurs/Thunder recent series, you are missing out.
