My favorites were baseball and football of which I played very well. Dabbled very successfully in basketball as well. Played some golf as a "YUTE" but left it and returned as a young adult and have been playing for about 25 years.

Baseball without a doubt has helped my golf game. In fact when it gets away from me sometimes during a round and all Brian Manz ideas don't click, I think baseball swing and the makings of my golf swing start to return.

Ideas and fly fishing go hand in hand, IMO.

I played baseball in college but I was a pitcher, so, lots of running poles and long toss. Played basketball for one year in college.

I played soccer as a kid and I would guess that it helped slightly. D-plane, compression, levers, kinetic chain and the like are all present.

Bicycling, hiking, snowboarding have all helped my swing by adding lower body strength
and stability. As a kid, like some others here, I participated in all summer and winter sports on
both land and water. I think being active as a child encouraged me to continue sports
well into middle age and hopefully beyond.

Play snooker in local league. Played football and cricket in my younger years until i discovered beer and women

I played Australian football (i.e. AFL/ Aussie Rules) up until I was 39, albeit at a much lower level than the few games of semi-pro footy I played in my early 20s. I guess it taught me about the benefits of being in the right position at impact and that it is better to give than receive: AFL Highlights - Biggest Hits, Bumps, Tackles and Punches [HD] - YouTube

I think my understanding of the D-Plane has helped my tennis a little.

Golf gave me much to think about when I was doing ultra marathons a few years ago. Lucky me for the standard distance in this part of the world is 100km...alot shorter than those 100 mile races in North America.

If there are two sports guaranteed to do you head in, golf and ultras would be top of the list...and then for some reason you decide to try and get good at both at the same time

How many 2 (or 3 or 4) sport athletes do we have in the house? I'm curious how many of you play other sports besides golf. And by "sport", I mean basically any other activity that's in some way competitive or athletic (hunting, dancing, darts, running, iron manning, fight clubbing, etc). And if you do, does it in anyway benefit your golf game or is it a completely stand alone activity to get you away from golf?

I do powerlifting and compete, I have represented my country at the World and European bench press championships. It does help golf to some degree, in my first year doing powerlifting I gained 20 yards and 1 club in distance.
Powerlifting is now my main sport which is ironic because I only started going to the gym to get stronger for golf.
